9 song full length from Ohio's gods of thunder. Awesome crustcore-soaked sludge hate, like HIGH ON FIRE meets DISRUPT. Everything about this album is unhealthy. Their bottom-heavy, suffocating sludge groove is tempered with excruciating vocals and the occasional thrash eruption. FISTULA actually sounds less like a sludge/doom band than they do a grindcore band slowed down to 5rpm. It's that nasty. Much better production than their previous full length and 7" tracks, Idiopathic is an unbelievably heavy, epic, and filthy collection of some of the greatest sludgecore on the planet. And to top it all off, the band closes with a SOUL CRUSHING rendition of J.J. Cale's "Cocaine" (you know...the one that Eric Clapton covered and made famous). I've been waiting for a sludgecore/doom band to cover this classic song for years, and FISTULA does it perfectly, turning that ode to narcotics into a barbed-wire covered anthem moving at tarpit speed.
