Faxed Head is a bonkers avant-garde death metal band from Coalinga, California, whose members are supposedly all survivors of a teenage suicide pact gone awry, leaving them handicapped and mentally warped. The back cover photos of the reconstructed cretins shows the lineup of headless/elongated-neck guitarist Neck Head, plaid-tartan skin-graft victim/wheelchair-bound vocalist McPatrick Head, oddly-handicapped musician Jigsaw Puzzle Head on bass, LaBrea Tar Pits Head on drums, and local mime/metal-detector-operator named Fifth Head providing electronics. The musical spew these guys engage in is as fucked up as their mythology...nine tracks of ferocious, retarded death metal / black metal, primitive and blasting violence with shredding riffs and abrupt cut-and-paste tape editing/splicing, nonsensical wonky rhythms, and ridiculously vomitous death barf. Faxed Head are the only band we can think of that bridges OTT death metal with the costumed art punk scene. Excellent weirdo death metal, def recommended!
