DEEP JEW  Ugliest Man / Dog Blood  LP   (Troniks)   14.98
Ugliest Man / Dog Blood IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

If this platter of transgressive improv grind filth is of interest to you, you'd better move fast. This Lp was released in a limited run of 400 copies, and it is questionable if I'm going to be able to restock this once these copies are gone. I was turned on to Deep Jew a few years ago after hearing the sonic skullfuck that was their War 7", a cross between harsh electronic skuzz and monstrously noisy grindcore sort of like early Sissy Spacek with a mix of bestial no-fi noisecore/grindnoise and harsh electronics/industrial screech, and flecked with the smallest hints of Flippery mongoloid sludge, all from members of noise projects like Oscillating Innards and Roman Torment. This Lp is in the same vein, more noise than grind, but still blast-heavy and BRUTALLY harsh, and recommended for anybody that gets off on extreme grindnoise and bands that sound like Scum crossed with Incapacitants.

The a-side of the record has five "songs", beginning with total cacophonic blasts of noisecore improvisation on "Every Day Is Worse", a mess of shrieking feedback, mangled blasting drums, distorted formless riffs, and howling vocals. Then they downshift into putrid low fi doom on the second track, warped dissonant guitars sliding through a pool of toxic slime backed by a shrieking junk noise backdrop, the drummer powering up into a locomotive chug while everything else keeps falling apart until it all eventually explodes into total grindnoise obliteration. There is a minute long avalanche of blastbeat chaos called "Brown Eyes" that is followed by "Virgin"'s vicious feedback abuse and harsh distortion, a harsh noise jam that turns into blasting improv grind. The last song of the a-side ends the side with a final extended eruption of freeform grind and harsh noise made up of violent bashing skull-cleaning feedback drenched blast-sludge and droning noise.

Flipping over onto the second side, you get one long track called "Master" that starts with ear-shredding feedback, and then shifts into a brutal doom-laden harsh noise assault with ultra-detuned guitar sludge sprawling out beneath crackling amplifier noise and wailing feedback. Then the drums come in, a slow, pounding, cymbal heavy percussive assault plowing through the rumbling, howling murk and slime, shrieking blackened vokills rising out of the noise, and a wall of howling guitar noise a la Total building ever higher. The whole side is a crushing mix of deformed extreme doom and massive overdriven free-noise destruction, total speaker-wrecking annihilation that seriously kills. Hell, the last five minutes or so sounds like Dale Crover pounding on his kit while adrift on an ocean of malfunctioning, melting amplifiers and circuit-bent distortion pedals. I love it.

Fucked up, fantastic blackened grindnoise that is highly advised for fans of Nihilist Commando, Seven Minutes Of Nausea, early AxCx, Sissy Spacek, Hanatarash, etc.
