CLIMAX DENIAL  Ritual Smothering  7" VINYL   (Bloodlust!)   9.00

Back in stock. Part of Bloodlust!'s Private Series of 7" singles, Ritual Smothering is another set of transmissions from the world of terminal sexual and emotional dysfunction and sonic ugliness inhabited by Milwaukee based power electronics artist Alex Kmet and his Climax Denial project.

The title track on the a-side is dark and heavily oppressive, formed around a steady bass-heavy synthesizer pulse that slowly fades in, joined by controlled bursts of echoing metalscrape and shrill high end feedback before eventually settling into a deeply malevolent death industrial dirge. The track hammers away with pounding percussive abrasion, everything moving in slow motion while the screaming, screeching feedback/metal abuse strengthens into increasingly painful levels of amplified brainscorch. It's an intense, hypnotic industrial trance, rooted in a kind of mindless robotic monotony, fueled by the sort of raw psychosexual imagery that has been one of this project's trademarks.

Flipping the record over, we're tempted by a long distance call suggesting sexual contact at the onset of "Mean Dominant", right before being flattened by a mass of brutal seething noise and crushing tectonic rhythms. Kmet's vocals are so vicious and distorted on this one that they bleed into the roiling chaos, becoming another smear of harsh noise, the whole sound redolent of murderous sexual desire and aberrant lust.

Another top-notch dose of churning evil electronics from Climax Denial, recommended to fans of his other releases on Assembly Of Hate and Bloodlust!. Comes in a plain white jacket with black and white xeroxed insert, on white vinyl, and limited to three hundred copies.
