FOUR DAYS TO BURN Lieutenant w/ Casino Bitch 7" VINYL (Dada Drumming) 4.98Released back in 2006, this 7" was the only released from the relatively short-lived sludgecore band Four Days To Burn from Fort Worth, Texas, which featured members of the obscure-but-excellent grindcore band Garuda. Released on Dada Drumming in a limited edition of five hundred copies on pink splatter vinyl, this platter is filled with slimy Southern sludge metal that owes an obvious debt to the likes of Eyehategod and Buzzoven but also has a two pronged vocal attack that combines deeper demonic roars with insane higher pitched shrieks and ups the ferocity on these two songs a bit.
The a-side song "Lieutenant" is a swampy, ragged Sabbathoid sludgecrust jam firmly centered in the New Orleans tradition, huge crushing blooze riffs splattered with feedback and drunken Southern rock soloing, bursts of lurching lopsided hardcore fury, screeching distorted vocals, a totally negatory vibe infecting every ounce of this, but adding some droning riffs and mathy angularity that let's 'em put their own stamp on it.
On side two, the band hammers away at "Casino Bitch", a slower moving wave of black swamp syrup that converges into a single beastly boogie riff that gradually builds into a thunderous stoner rock raveup.
Sludge fans that can't get enough of this sort of stuff (ie., Bongzilla, Cavity, EHG, Weedeater, Sourvein) will love this band.
