FLOWERDAY  Snuff Victim  CASSETTE   (Cathartic Process)   5.98
Snuff Victim IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

The first of two cassettes that have been released by Cathartic Process from R.E. Fontainebleau's harsh noise wall project Flowerday, Snuff Victim is a horrific explosion of black distortion and feedback compacted onto the two sides of this tape, a violent and vicious maelstrom of sound that rages relentlessly over the course of the thirty minute recording.

Released in 2008, Snuff Victim was the very first release from Flowerday, limited to a run of one hundred cassettes that are packaged in grisly artwork compiled from hardcore S&M imagery and 70's exploitation film fare, assembled by Cathartic Process's in-house designer Nnerves. Each side features a fifteen minute block of flesh-rending electronic destruction, with a crusty, tactile feel like that of some of The Rita's most violent recordings. A blizzard-like storm of shrieking garbled feedback, demonic high-end howling and piercing drones that are forged into a massive wall, with the b-side of Snuff Victim focusing on a more blasted, monochromatic field of black static hiss, with the avalanche-roar of distortion becoming a bit more washed out beneath all of the static. Relentlessly harsh and malefic, Flowerday crafts a suffocating sonic experience on this tape with these two swarms of black evil completely blotting out the sun. A ceaseless overload of brutal distortion, and highly recommended to HNW addicts.
