FLOWERDAY Girl On Film CASSETTE (Cathartic Process) 5.98The second cassette on Cathartic Process from RE Fontainbleau's pulverizing, bondage-themed HNW project Flowerday, Girl On Film features two more sides of extremely heavy and thunderous HNW skullcrush that unleashes even more low-end massiveness and churning black inferno than we heard on the previous tape Snuff Victim, which is no small feat.
The a-side is a chaotic black wall of distortion that at first sounds like an extremely blown out and in-the-red death metal recording, but then settles in a vast ocean of low-end rumble strafed with constant blasts of high-frequency feedback and choppy white noise that wildly fluctuates above the surface. These high, unnerving drones become really prominent in the mix a few minutes in to the track, and are joined by ghostly keening and strange moans way off in the background that adds a really disturbing feel to this blast of HNW; once those sounds are subsumed back into the blaze, the remainder of the piece is pure crushing, sputtering black fire. Side two is a similar cacophony of monstrous scraping and brutal blizzards of distortion screaming through an avalanche of molten lava and crumbling rock, a crushing inhospitable mass of super heavy and ultra saturated black drone-roar that constantly shifts and fluctuates, a churning cyclonic wall of hiss and rumble and grind and monstrous looped howling that never remains static. Both this and Snuff Victim are high caliber HNW releases, highly recommended to fans of Vomir and The Rita.
