DRUNKDRIVER  Knife Day / January 2nd  7" VINYL   (Fan Death)   4.98
Knife Day / January 2nd IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

Loved the LP Born Pregnant that these maniacs burped up last year, and have been looking forward to this two-song 7" ever since Fan Death said that they were going to repress it (since the first run blew out of there fast). Once again, the Brooklyn trio constructs a teetering claptrap hardcore assault out of guitar, drums and voice, dishing out short blasts of old school HC mania obscured by the insanely vile guitar sound of guitarist Kristy Greene, who does not give one good fuck about "tone". It's an audio mugging, hardcore filtered through corrosive industrial noise, the sound of the Neos and Swans and Ramleh smashed together into a pulpy mess. This band is amazing! The first side has "Kife Day", a furious blast of psychedelic hardcore, brutal two chord riffage over pounding chaotic drums, echo-chamber vocals spewing out sociopathic gibberish, finally locking into a lethal groove halfway in, distortion and feedback all over the place, much less industrial sounding than their LP and more like a ultra-blown version of Flipper/No Trend/Butthole Surfers style mess. It's a real rager.

The second side is even more hysterical, all violent atonal thrash and guitar scrape over sloppy jackhammer drums, pounding that jagged angular riff into your cranium through a haze of skin-scraping distortion, tape hiss and puke, like someone slipped a grenade into Pussy Galore's gearcase and captured the ensuing carnage close-up. If you're into bands like No Fucker, Total Abuse, Clockcleaner, you should already be all over these guys. Comes on limited-edition (500 copies) white vinyl.
