FECALOVE  Animal  CDR   (Turgid Animal)   5.98
Animal IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

I've never been all that aware of what's going on in the Italian power electronics scene, but Nicola Vinciguerra is working hard to change that. Not only is Vinciguerra the head of the Italian division of the excellent Turgid Animal label, which specializes in PE, black metal and industrial of the harshest sort, but this guys also does time in a number of projects that range from the murderous power electronics/sound collage nightmare of Splinter vs. Stalin to the fucked-up scumnoise/blackdoom filth of Cumshot Wound and the demonic power electronics assault of Fecalove. I reviewed another Fecalove related release elsewhere in this week's list, a collaboration with Dead Body Love that might be the heaviest harsh noise release we have listed this week, but on this 2007 full length disc Vinciguerra goes it alone with six tracks of blasphemous blackened power electronics that blends together punishing Whitehouse/Sutcliffe Jugend-style ranting and power electronics, strange samples of undoubtedly sexual organ, and more OTT abstract harsh noise that blasts right into full-on Merzbow/Incapacitants territory while still utilizing absolutely bestial vocals. Animal's relentless hateful barrage of distortion and Vinciguerra's animalistic vocals remind me of some of the newer stuff that Prurient has released, complete with that diseased necro vibe that has seeped in to Dominick Fernow's feedback assaults, but Vinciguerra also puts his own stamp on his sound with all of the detours into dense scrapyard noise blasts and his, uh, expressive and totally depraved lyrical style. It all comes to a head with the twenty-two minute earscrape epic "Sporco" that closes the disc, a real skull-melting endurance test that runs the gamut from hellish PE to super-distorted bass-heavy noise. BRUTAL. Comes in a wallet sleeve with insert.
