DIEDINHISSUIT / DANGLERS, THE  split  7" VINYL   (Primary Thoughts)   3.98
split IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

This 7" came out in 1999 and has been long out of print like all of the other Primary Thoughts releases that we recently unearthed at the warehouse. It's also the PT release that we have the least of, with only two copies in stock. This 7" EP couldn't feature two more different bands, with the first side burning bright with two songs of crazed chaotic hardcore from Diedinhissuit, a Midwestern guitar/drums duo that sounds a whole lot like a grindier Converge, angular, atonal riffs spasming off of spastic blastbeats and jerky rhythmic changes, like old Converge circa 1996 if they had worshipped at the throne of Crossed Out and were on Slap A Ham. Fierce shit! The Danglers, on the other hand, are a three peice of violin, drums, and contrabass who play a kind of weird mutant mountain music, a mix of chamber-prog arrangements and stumbling instrumental folk that they call "Heavy Wooden" and which reminds me at times of an Appalachian version of King Crimson. Dark folky violin melodies merge with jazzy rhythms and angular contrabass riffs into strange waltzing tunes - interesting stuff, and I'll be looking around for their more recent releases after this. On black vinyl, with multiple inserts in a textured silkscreened sleeve.
