DE NOVISSIMIS / TUNGUSKA  split  7" VINYL   (Rimbaud)   6.98

Great freakin' split that just came out

via the Scottish label Rimbaud (and assisted by a couple of others from the Bristish Isles), featuring two bands from the Dublin underground. De Novissimis

was already known to us through their killer CD-R that we listed sometime last year (and

which is still in stock), which was a brutal fusion of extreme doom

and fucked up, rotten crustcore; their sole track here, a six minute drug-induced psychotic break titled 'Dignatas' (I think), starts off with a blast of

rolling toms, hideous shrieks, and epic guitar noise, shifts into an explosive, ultra noisy doomsludge dirge, then dissipates into clouds of atonal guitar

chords and droning feedback that globs together as a strangely beautiful, almost post-rockish coda. The flip bears two tracks from Tunguska (featuring ex

members of Easpa Measa, Mongolia, and Polish legends Silence) whose 'Just A Story' and 'Pieces Of Life' are speedy jackhammers of dissonant, epic destructo

crust, like a cross between Buried Inside, Envy and Catharsis, a wall-of-sound assault of brutal, atmospheric, metallic crustcore jacked up on endtime

visions, dark melodies, and rampaging D-beat power. Comes in a full color jacket.
