DISCORDANCE AXIS  The Inalienable Dreamless  CD   (Hydra Head)   14.98
The Inalienable Dreamless IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

What can I say? Discordance Axis' The Inalienable Dreamless is one of the greatest grindcore albums ever, a total classic, and the creative apex of this band's career. It went out of print for a while, and now it's back, so we grabbed some for anyone that hasn't nabbed this classic yet. It's an immaculately assembled album, from the sheer complexity and impossible catchiness of DA's arcane, laser guided hyperspeed grind/metalcore/noise designs, to the 12-page full color booklet and beautiful minimalist package design, and like every classic album, The Inalienable Dreamless sounds completely effortless in execution, the three members locked in on a single thoughtwave of extreme blastage. When this came out back in 2000, I remember being completely blown away by the 23 minutes of music on this disc, and it has lost none of it's searing power in the years since. Jon Chang's insane screams and gutteral roars are fucking terrifying sounding, and all the more powerful when you follow his mystic/poetic lyrics that are accompanied in the booklet. Guitarist Rob Marton beams some of the craziest fretboard rippage ever, peeling off crazed shredding and blats of expressive guitar noise and dissonant anti-chords that sound like they came from another planet, and Dave Witte's drumming here is a baffling storm of precision fills and skull melting blastbeats. This is unquestionably essential for anyone into grind and extreme metal. Packaged in a full color DVD case with full color booklet.
