CRIPPLE BASTARDS  Your Lies In Check  LP   (Haunted Hotel)   12.98
Your Lies In Check IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

Killer new vinyl edition of Cripple Bastard's shredding debut album from 1996, in a limited edition of 1000 copies in a full color jacket with a big 11" by 22" poster insert!

A re-mastered reissue of the debut album from notorious Italian grinders Cripple Bastards, Your Lies In Check is still as scorching and tweaked as it was when it was first released back in 1996 on the E.U. Produzoni label run by CB's singer, Giulio The Bastard. With a whopping 69 tracks (!), Your Lies In Check is primarily made up of re-recorded versions of songs that had already appeared on the band's numerous cassette tapes and 7"s between 1988 and 1995, so you get a heavy and varied dose of CB's early mixture of brutal, anthemic Italian hardcore, totally improvised whiteouts of corrosive blastnoise, their weird inclinations towards prog rock and melodic punk, and of course, TONS of skull shearing hyperspeed grindcore. The blastbeats on this album are out of control, but the Bastards also mix things up with lots of anthemic mid tempo punk (to the point of being almost poppy in places) and slooow, dirgey sludge parts. This is some of my favorite music from the massive pile Cripple Bastards output, super catchy but really harsh as well; the songs are splattered with Giulio's awesome vocals that switch between gruff hardcore yelling, sickening screams, and ridiculously deep death grunting, and his misanthropic and negative lyrics combine with splatter and horror movie imagery to form some of the craziest extreme grind ever. And these guys always threw in all kinds of weird bits into their songs like crazed psychedelic guitars, weird noises, and other stuff that made Cripple Bastard's music way more interesting than most of the rote grind that was coming out in the '90s. Not to mention the awesome covers of King Crimson's "21st Century Scizoid Man' and the Beatles' "We Can Work It Out" that are included here. This redux has all-new artwork (which is cool, but man, I loved the art on the original!), and the 16 page booklet includes complete lyrics and liner notes.
