EYEHATEGOD  10 Years Of Abuse  CD   (Century Media)   13.98
10 Years Of Abuse IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

What needs to be said? This is a fucking KILLER compilation of raw material from the NOLA sludgelords that every serious Eyehategod fan should have in their collection. The disc celebrates a decade of debauched heaviness and doomed, drug-infested, feedback vomiting Sabbath/Black Flag inspired sludge metal, part live album, part demo collection, ALL FILTH. The disc first rips through through the band's four-song Lack of Almost Everything demo from 1990, with ultra raw, noisy versions of "Left To Starve", "Hit a Girl", "Depress", and "Children of God", complete with fucked up sample loops and enough feedback to choke a bison. After that is a four-song line in the studio set recorded in '94 at KXLU in Los Angeles by Chris Elder from Pessimiser Records, and then eight live songs recorded on their 2000 European tour. Ultraheavy, mud-encrusted swamp boogie and junk-addicted, hyper-negative hardcore blues from hell - as raw and violent as it comes, immense and anguished, the musical output of years of serious drug addiction, label woes, tour disasters, poverty. Newcomers to the EHG experience need to start with Take As Needed For Pain or Confederacy Of Ruined Lives, but longtime Eyehategod fans will drool over the tuneage, liner notes written by Alicia Morgan from 13 and cool old tour posters that have been reproduced in the CD's booklet.
