DxIxE Hola! CASSETTE (HG Fact) 5.98Raging, quirky and completely freaked out Japanese hyperthrash from DxIxEx - we just got this cassette-only release in from the Japanese label HG Fact, and I'm pretty sure that we're one of the only places in the country that you can get this from. It's a raw collection of eleven songs recorded in 2005 by the band themselves, relatively low fi though nowhere as skuzzy and blown-out as, say, Unholy Grave. What makes DxIxEx so fucking awesome is the way that they combine everything from wall-of-noise blurr to snotty garage punk to ripping grindcore to pure noise, and yet these songs are pretty catchy, and certainly goofy, with the band tossing in stuff like silly Ramones chants of "Hey ho, let's go", squeaky vocals and and police whistles in the middle of their songs. DxIxEx aren't as over-the-top weird as bands like CSSO or Gore Beyond Necropsy/Noise A Go Go's, but fans of those bands (and the way that mix together trashy rock with blasting grind) should still check 'em out.
As per the title, there's some kind of weird Mexican theme here, with cover art that seems to reference the Mexican Day Of The Dead; the tape itself comes in a full color standard case.
