CSMD Vs The World CDR (R.O.N.F. Records) 8.98A complete collection of all of the CD-Rs, compilation tracks, 7" tracks and other flotsam from the Dutch noisecore band CSMD, which stands for Crowd Surfers Must Die. The two members of CSMD have been spewing a super blown out psychedelic hybrid of noise rock, grindcore, space noise and less easy to identify sounds since 1998 using only drums, bass, noise and samples; not as well known as some of their more prolific brethren in the international noisecore scene, CSMD manage to be one of the more interesting, and alot of the stuff that you hear on Vs The World isn't really grind or noisecore at all. There's a bunch of jams on here that resemble the damaged, sloppy no-fi rock of bands like Harry Pussy, Bunnybrains and Dead C, as big booming drums and slurred, catchy superdistorted punk rock riffs rumble under a thick blanket of skuzz, shit and boombox grit, but then they'll suddenly take off into noisy thrashy hardcore or 1000mph grind while weird sci-fi electronic fx whizz around, or sink into a massive black hole of buzzing filthy Corrupted sludge swimming in feedback and tape hiss. This is what I would have expected if Siltbreeze would've ever started to put out grind records back in the '90's, and if you've got an ear for mega noisy and skummy no-fi craziness, this stuff rocks pretty hard. The disc collects their tracks from their split EPs with Sloth, Drunken Orgy Of Destruction, Pile Of Eggs, Gerogerigegege, comp tracks, and some live stuff, comes in full color packaging covered in flying saucers and Godzilla pics, and is handnumbered out of just 75 copies.
