GALLERY OF MITES  Bugs On The Bluefish  CD   (Meteor City)   0.00
Bugs On The Bluefish IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE FOR ORDER

A stoner rock supergroup, made up of members of Monster Magnet, Halfway To Gone, Black Nasa, Ribeye Brothers, doomsters Solace, and Lord Sterling, all hailing from New Jersey and serving up a surprisingly garagey psych rock album with a whopping five guitarists at the helm. With that many axemen putting in for this group, you'd best be getting some top notch riffage and Gallery Of Mites delivers. These guys conjure up a dark 60's acid punk sound something like the Stooges mixed with early Rolling Stones and powered by some awesome LSD-drenched soloing. There's nothing metallic going on here but these tunes rock like hell, and anyone into the more retro-rock side of stoner rock and psych are going to really dig this. Opener "Exploded View" is a driving, organ accomapnied number straight out of the late 60's; the handclap-augemented "X's For Eyes" and "Suicide Punchline" particularly evoke the early Brian Jones era of the 'Stones. Former Kyuss frontman John Garcia delivers some guest vocals on "100 Days (Heron)", and "A Man Called Shit" surpasses it's crass title and serves up a massive, wah-drenched psych guitar space-rock orgy that wouldn't sound out of place on an Acid Mother's disc. And the best thing about this slab of acid rock is that it's totally FREE. That's right, the guys at Meteor City hooked up with us and sent us a big box of these CDs to give away to anyone that wants one. Obviously you've got to order something else to get this since we're trying to include these in packages for orders, but if you want one added to your order, go ahead and toss it in yer cart!
